Bulk upload listings and images

The Bulk Upload Tool allows Advanced sellers to create and upload up to 1,000 listings at once using a CSV file. It is useful if you regularly list multiple items and want to prepare your listings in a spreadsheet before uploading them.

1. Create your CSV file

In the Sell a product block of your My Account selling dashboard, click on Import Products (CSV). From there, click the Download a sample CSV file button. This will download a CSV file built in line with Bob Shop's format requirements, and you will use this file to populate your listing data.

In the file you will need to include the required information for each listing, such as:

Listing type: Fixed Price, English Auction or Classified.
Category.
Title and description.
Quantity.
Opening and closing times.
Shipping information.
Warranty details, where applicable.
Thumbnail image.
Boost settings, if required.

Adding images

You can add thumbnail images to your bulk listings using image URLs.

To prepare your images:

Save your product images on your computer.
Make sure they are in JPEG, GIF or PNG format.
Upload multiple images to the Bob Shop image tool that can be found in your My Account selling dashboard (click on Images under Seller Tools on the left hand side).
Once uploaded to the Bob Shop image tool, copy the image URLs.
Paste the relevant image URL into the appropriate column in your CSV file.

Large images may be resized to optimise their display, so dimensions may differ from the original.

2. Add Boost

Should you wish to promote your product, you can add Boost to your listings through the CSV file.

Choose from:

Boost Basic
Boost Plus
Boost Premium

Depending on the available options, you can enter the relevant flat-rate Boost code or a percentage value of 10, 15 or 20 in the Boost column.

To select a flat rate Boost tier, enter one of the following in the Boost column: BOOST_BASIC_FLAT_RATE, BOOST_PLUS_FLAT_RATE, or BOOST_PREMIUM_FLAT_RATE.

Boost is a paid advertising option. Make sure you understand how Boost works before applying it to your listings. Learn more about Boost here.

3. Upload your CSV

Once your CSV is complete:

Log in to your Bob Shop account.
Go to My Account > Selling.
Select Bulk upload items.
Browse for and select your CSV file.
Agree to the Bob Shop terms and fees.
Upload the file.

Your listings will then be processed in bulk.

Tip: Bulk relisting

If you have already created listings manually and want to relist several items while changing only a few details, you can use the Picklist tool.

Select the relevant items and choose Generate bulkload CSV. You can then edit the CSV and upload the listings in bulk.
