Boost your listings

Boost your listings

What is Boost?

Boost is the easiest way to get your Bob Shop listings seen by more buyers. When you Boost a listing, it appears in more places across the site, including the Bob Shop home page, category pages, and search results. With Boost, your listings get greater visibility from the moment they go live.

Boost tiers

Choose from three different tiers of Boost: all three tiers cover the same four surfaces or areas on the site. The only difference is the frequency and prominence your listing receives:
  1. Boost Basic: Provides prominent exposure for your products across all surfaces: home page, category pages, search results, and paid promotions.
  2. Boost Plus: Features your products more frequently than Basic for increased visibility and stronger placement across all available Bob Shop surfaces.
  3. Boost Premium: Provides maximum exposure with the most frequent and prominent placements across all available Bob Shop surfaces.

Where your Boosted listings appear

All Boost tiers give your listing placement on:
  1. Home Page: shown to buyers browsing the Bob Shop home page
  2. Category Pages: shown when buyers browse the relevant product category (relevance-based)
  3. Search Results: shown when buyers search for matching keywords (relevance-based)

Notes
It is important to note that placement within search and category results is relevance-based. This means your listing will only appear where it matches what the buyer is looking for.

How to pay for Boost

You can choose how you want to pay for Boost:
  1. Pay per listing (Fixed Fee): you pay a single upfront fee per listing. The Boost stays active for 30 days or until your listing closes, whichever comes first. Prices are:
    1. Boost Basic: R30 (VAT incl.)
    2. Boost Plus: R80 (VAT incl.)
    3. Boost Premium: R200 (VAT incl.)
  1. Pay per sale (% Per Sale): pay nothing upfront. Instead, a percentage is charged on each item sold, in addition to the standard success fee. Prices are:
    1. Boost Basic: 10% per sale
    2. Boost Plus: 15% per sale
    3. Boost Premium: 20% per sale
Notes
Pay per sale applies per sale made. The Boost stays active until the listed item is sold or closed.

Things to know before you Boost

  1. You cannot edit a listing after it has been Boosted, so make sure everything is correct first.
  2. If you copy and relist a listing, you can Boost the new listing at that point.
  3. Boost fees are VAT inclusive. The same pricing applies across all categories.

How to Boost a listing

  1. You can either Boost when creating a new listing or Boost your existing listings with no Boost applied:
  2. When creating a new listing, select a Boost tier and billing model in the listing form.
  3. For an existing listing, go to your Listings, edit the listing you want to Boost, and choose a Boost option.

Legacy enhancements

Alert
If you have any listings with legacy enhancements (such as Highlighted, Bold, Home Page Featured, or Category Featured) that were active before the launch of Boost, these will continue to run until their expiry date. They cannot be renewed. To promote your listings after expiry, use Boost instead.
