What are SMS alerts?

SMS Alerts is a SMS (text) message service which allows you to stay up to date with the status of the item you are bidding on. This service also allows you to increase your current bid by simply replying to the Bob Shop out bid alert or by sending a SMS to 33003.

How much does it cost?

It is free to receive out-bid alerts from Bob Shop via SMS. You will only be charged if you reply to the out-bid alert or by sending a new bid to 33003. SMS's sent from your phone will be charged at R1.50 per SMS.

Do I still get charged if I have free SMS bundles?

Bob Shop SMS alerts is a premium service and free SMSs do not apply. You will still be charged R1.50 by your network operator for every sms you send.

Will I get 'spammed' with messages as a result of signing up for the service?

You will only receive alerts that you request and these are done on a per item basis. You can also select the times of day that you do not wish to receive an alert but be aware this may restrict your ability to win an item!
