The Free shipping feature

Did you know that offering free shipping can significantly increase your sales and attract more customers? Buyers are more likely to complete their orders when they see a free shipping option, leading to higher conversion rates.

Everything you need to know about this feature 

  1. All Bob Shop sellers can enable the Free shipping feature. 
  2. The minimum order amount to enable Free shipping is R100
  3. As the seller, you will be liable to cover the buyer's shipping costs. This includes the buyer’s standard shipping fee (currently R35) and any surcharges if the buyer is situated in a remote area. 

How to enable Free shipping in your account?

  1. Login and navigate to your selling dashboard 
  2. Select Shipping settings under the Sellers Tools section on the left panel
  3. Scroll down to the Free shipping
     section, tick the check box to enable this feature and enter your minimum order amount. 


How to change your Free shipping settings per product or listing

If you wish to adjust your Free shipping settings for a particular product/s, you can edit the listing. This will not affect your global Free shipping minimum order amount but will overwrite the global settings.

Tip: What is the industry norm for Free shipping rates?
We suggest that orders or products that amount to R500 or more qualify for Free shipping. 

How will buyers know that my product has Free shipping? 

Products with the Free shipping feature enabled will display a “Free shipping” badge on the search page. It is also visible on the listing page under the Shipping section on the right-hand side.
