Step 3: Buyers place bids or buy using buy now

After you have created your listing and it is live on Bob Shop, potential bidders and buyers can find it. Interested buyers or bidders may ask you questions about your product via the ask a question link located on the item listing page. An email will be sent to you whenever visitors ask a question. It is important to respond to questions promptly because this may increase the likelihood of a sale. Please remember that contact details are not permitted in the Q&A.

You will also get an email when a buyer bids on your item; when a buyer places a buy-now order; and when there is a winner on an auction. You can also log into your My account to view all questions awaiting answers, bids, orders, sales, and so on.

Can I delete or cancel a bid on my items?

Sellers can delete a bid only under the following conditions:
  1. The bid price is unrealistically high compared to the previous bid.
  2. The bid price is above the recommended retail price of the item.
  3. The buyer has placed bids on multiple similar items.
  4. The buyer has not fulfilled any of your previous auctions.
  5. The buyer has received negative feedback previously from another seller for non-fulfillment.
  6. The seller has dealt with the buyer before and Buyer has not fulfilled the previous transaction.
  7. The seller has made an error on the listing and needs to correct it.
  8. The buyer has requested bid to be deleted as per the Consumer Protection Act.

To delete a bid on your item:

  1. Go to the Selling tab in your My account.
  2. Click on Open items in the Activity section.
  3. In the page that appears, click on View bids.
  4. Click on Delete.
  5. Choose a reason from the drop down and click on Submit.
Note that Bob Shop reserves the right to take appropriate action against the seller if misuse of this facility is reported.

What are auctions with buy now?

Sellers have the option to add the buy now option when creating an auction listing. Sellers who upload their auction listings in bulk can make them feature the buy now button by filling in the buy-now field. Only auction listings with the quantity of 1 item can have a buy now price option.
If there is a buy now price next to the buy now button in auction listings, this means that buyers can choose to either place a bid, or to buy the item outright. The buy now button will disappear when the auction amount reaches the buy-now amount and bidders will be able to compete via the bid now button until the auction closes.
