Troubleshooting camera permissions

How to troubleshoot camera permissions on various mobile phones and tablets:

Samsung internet browser

1. Open the Phone’s Settings app on your Android smartphone.
2. Scroll down and select Apps.



3. Tap on the Search icon on the top right and search for Samsung Internet.
4. Tap on Samsung Internet





 5. Tap to open Camera permissions. This displays all the permissions allowed for the Samsung Internet browser.



6. Switch the radio button to the Allow option.



Note: Allowing or denying the permission for the browser affects all sites.

Samsung Internet at the time of writing does not support per website permissions.


Google Chrome for Mobile (Android Native Browser)

1. Open the Phone’s Settings app on your Android smartphone.
2. Scroll down and select Apps.



3. Tap on the Search icon on the top right and search for Chrome.



4. Tap on Chrome
5. Scroll down to App Permissions and select it.



6. Tap to open Camera permissions. This displays all the permissions allowed for the Google Chrome browser.



7. Switch the radio button to the Allow option.


 
Note: This only allows the Application (Browser) access to the camera. 

Follow the next steps to set the camera permissions in the browser for websites:
1. Open Chrome on the phone.



2. Tap on the three vertical dots on the top right.



3. Scroll down and tap on Settings



4. Tap on Site Settings



5. Tap on Camera



6. Tap on the toggle on the right to set the camera permission to ask.



Safari (iOS Native Browser)

1. Open Settings on the iOS device
2. Scroll down and tap on Safari 
3. Scroll down and tap on Camera



4. Select Ask or Allow to enable camera permissions.

 
Note: This only allows the Application (Browser) access to the camera. 

Follow the next steps to set the camera permissions in the browser for websites.
1. Open Safari from the iOS device.



2. Tap on the characters on the top left.



3. Tap on Website Settings
4. Tap on Camera and select either Ask or Allow.



Desktop: Google Chrome Browser

1. Open Chrome .
2. Go to the site that requires to use of your camera.
3. When prompted, choose between Ask, Allow or Block
            • Allow: The website can make use of the camera while on it.
            • Block: The website would not have permission to use the camera.
            • Ask: The website will prompt you every time if you want to allow camera access or not.

Follow the next steps to set Camera Permission:
1. Navigate to the site 
2. Click on the lock icon in the address bar
3. Change the Camera permission to Ask or Allow



Desktop: Edge Browser

1. Navigate to the site 
2. Click on the lock icon in the address bar 



3. Click on Permissions for this site.
4. Select Ask or Allow in the dropdown next to the Camera.
