Fee rate card: Success fees

Bob Shop charges a category-based success fee (up to a maximum of R5,000 excl. VAT per item).
Info
A success fee is charged on the sale value of the item sold on Bob Shop. Success fees vary depending on the category where the item is listed.
The success fee is 8.75% excluding VAT, or 10.06% including VAT for the following categories:
  1. Antiques & Collectables
  2. Art
  3. Baby
  4. Books & Education
  5. Clothing, Shoes & Accessories
  6. Garden, Patio & Pets
  7. Gemstones & Rocks
  8. Gift Vouchers & Coupons
  9. Holistic & Esoteric
  10. Jewellery & Watches
  11. Militaria
  12. Sport & Leisure
  13. Toys & Hobbies
  14. Travel & Entertainment
  15. Unusual
  16. X- Rated Adult Material
The success fee is 7.25% excluding VAT, or 8.34% including VAT for the following categories:
  1. Automotive: Motorcycles, Boats & Other Vehicles and Car Parts & Accessories
  2. Business, Farming & Industry
  3. Crafts
  4. Groceries & Household
  5. Health & Beauty
  6. Home & Living
  7. Stamps
The success fee is 5.75% excluding VAT, or 6.61% including VAT for the following categories:
  1. Cell Phones & Accessories
  2. Coins & Notes
  3. Computers & Networking
  4. Electronics
  5. Gaming
  6. Movies & Television
  7. Music & Instruments

Adding a promotional category enhancement to an item can make it even easier for buyers to find it. It lets you list the item in a related second category or as part of a special promotion. The higher of the two category success fees will then be applied, regardless of which category the buyer actually purchases the item from.

For example, the success fee for the clothing, shoes and accessories category is 10.06% including VAT, whereas the success fee for the computers and networking category is 6.61% including VAT. If you list a computer bag in one of these categories, and then enhance it by also listing it in the second category, the success fee for the clothing, shoes and accessories category will be applied, as it is the higher of the two fees.
Info
If a buyer does not pay for a purchase, seller can apply to have the success fee and, in some cases, the final order value fee credited back to their accounts. Learn how to file a sale not complete (SNC) request and claim your success fees.
