Basic and Advanced sellers

Bob Shop offers two seller levels: Basic and Advanced. Both allow you to sell on Bob Shop, but Advanced sellers have access to additional seller features and benefits.

Basic sellers

Basic seller status is the standard seller level available when you start selling on Bob Shop. You can create listings, sell items and manage your orders through your Bob Shop account.

Advanced sellers

Advanced seller status is available to sellers who meet Bob Shop's requirements. It provides access to additional selling features and benefits designed for more established sellers.

Your seller level can affect the features and benefits available to you, so make sure your account and seller information are kept up to date.

  • Advanced sellers are required to submit bank account or credit card details, as well as identity document details.

  • When you apply to become an advanced seller, Bob Shop will debit R10.00 off your bank account or your credit card. If the debit is successful, this amount is credited to your Bob Shop account. This is done to validate the account.

  • Advanced sellers can list an unlimited number of items and choose from all the listing enhancement options on offer.

  • Advanced sellers can create and offer prompts to buyers.

  • Advanced sellers are billed in arrears. Fees are invoiced at the end of the month and debited on or around the 7th of the following month for all fees incurred during the previous month.

  • Advanced sellers can automatically relist items.

  • Advanced sellers can make use of the Bulk Upload Tool

Changing your banking details

Your banking details are used to pay out funds owed to you from your Bob Shop sales. You can update your banking details from your account settings.

To change your banking details:

  1. Log in to your Bob Shop account.

  2. Go to My Account > Settings.

  3. Select Banking details.

  4. Enter your new banking information.

  5. Submit the changes.

For security reasons, you may be required to verify your updated banking details before they can be used for payouts.

Make sure your banking information is correct and belongs to the account holder registered on Bob Shop. Incorrect banking details may delay your payout.

Note: Every time a seller changes their bank account or credit card details, they will be debited R10 to ensure the account number registered is valid. The R10 is credited to the seller's Bob Shop account and can be used for future fees or transferred with their next payout.
